Privacy Policy

Human Body Explorer ("we", "our", "the app") is an educational anatomy game developed by an independent developer. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

1. Data We Collect

Account data: When you create an account, we collect your email address (for account recovery and purchase receipts), a chosen username, and a hashed password.

Game progress: Your XP, level, completed lessons, challenge attempts, and achievements are stored on our server to enable cross-session progress.

Settings: Your language preference and display settings are stored with your account.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

No location data or GPS
No contacts, photos, or device files
No advertising identifiers or tracking pixels
No third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics)
No cookies for tracking purposes

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to:

Save and restore your game progress
Display leaderboards (XP, challenge accuracy)
Enable upcoming multiplayer features (PvP duels, Co-op missions) — when released, your username, level and match history may be shared with opponents/partners
If you join a class, your username, XP, level, completed lessons and challenges are visible to your teacher and classmates within that class. Teachers can also remove students from their class.
Schools-vs-Schools leaderboard shows aggregate XP totals per school (minimum 3 students per school). Individual student data is not exposed in this view. You can opt out of the global leaderboard in Settings — you remain visible only within your class and school.

4. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored on a secure server (Google Cloud Platform, EU region). Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. Communication uses HTTPS encryption.

5. Third-Party Services

The app uses Stripe for web payments and Apple App Store / Google Play Billing for mobile in-app purchases. Each provider processes payment data according to their own privacy policy. We do not have access to your payment details (credit card numbers, etc.).

6. Children's Privacy

Human Body Explorer is an educational app suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to function — only a username of your choice.

7. Data Deletion

You can delete your account in the app from Settings → Delete account. If you cannot access the app, you can also request deletion at Account deletion or by contacting us. Upon deletion, your progress, settings, and game history are permanently removed from our servers, except records we must retain for legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or purchase dispute reasons.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
